SUMMARY

TMAC is seeking a manufacturing engineering inter to assist our team in their mission to improve quality and efficiency to our clients. The primary responsibility of this candidate will be to provide consultation in various manufacturing processes, documenting and establishing a repeatable process and design guide.

 

FUNDAMENTAL DUTIES

  • Adhere to and further develop tooling standards program

  • Help create & document procedures for process equipment

  • Develop & implement a system to maintain tooling / fixture records

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, particularly machine efficiency and cost reductions, utilizing data-driven methods.

  • Assist with updating consumable parts inventory records

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Good organizational skills

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office package

  • Experience with 2D & 3D drafting software

  • Capable of performing process and equipment troubleshooting, root cause analysis and corrective action formulation

  • Attention to detail, particularly with respect to developing process documentation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Pursuing BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

  • Eagerness to learn and take initiative

  • Experience with Solidworks

Primary Responsibilities: 

To provide service to our clients by assisting them with implementing Risk Management strategies and controls. Equally as important will be to provide underwriting with an analysis or evaluation of companies that we provide services.

 

Essential Functions:
1. Research and Analysis

  • Develop graphical loss analysis to help accounts, agency contacts, and underwriting with visualizing loss trends.

  • Evaluate account operations for hazards that are specific to their insurance policy coverage.

  • Conduct Risk Evaluation inspections on account facilities, equipment, systems, etc., to verify safety, maintenance, and quality.

  • Review/ summarize data and report findings from evaluation visits, and develop reports for underwriters.

2. Account Management

  • Develop strategies to assist Service accounts with reducing loss frequency and severity.

  • Identify and apply appropriate safety intervention techniques.

  • Prepare reports and summaries about accounts that would assist underwriters in making decisions to retain or to reject accounts.

  • Write follow up letters to accounts for visits made.

  • Draft reports or recommendations to accounts for hazards that are deemed to be unacceptable.

  • Ensures that accounts comply with applicable Hawaii Occupational Safety & Health laws, National Fire Protection Standards, and Life Safety Codes.

  • Provides resources to customers that will assist them with their Loss Prevention needs.


Skills/Knowledge:

  1. Effective, professional verbal and written communication skills required.

  2. Must be able to apply basic mathematical skills (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplying and dividing).

  3. A basic computer skill to include Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required.

  4. Working Knowledge of safety and health laws.

  5. Experience in public speaking and comfortable creating and presenting presentations.

    Education/Experience: 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is required. Relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

  2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the insurance industry as a Multi-line Loss Control Consultant is preferred.

  3. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an equivalent Safety & Health occupation is required.

Job Description: 
Tasks:

  • Work with end users to document processes, analyze workflow and decision matrix

  • Analyze data to determine impacts and value of changing the processes in terms of cost savings, efficiencies, and accuracy of execution

  • Work with technical teams to determine application improvements and changes that can be made based on the analysis. Could be enhanced rules engine, new algorithms, changing user processes based off of analysis

  • Experience in data analysis and converting that data into useful reporting and dashboards to empower end user leadership in decision making

  • Other tasks as they arrive based on the analysis.

Skills:

  • Senior classmen, graduate student or graduated intern with Operations Research (OR), Industrial Engineering (IE), or related degree program

  • Excellent data analysis skills

  • Strong process improvement skills from analysis through implementation of approved recommendations.

  • Ability to use reporting and data visualization tools

  • Excellent documentation skills

  • Solid communications skills interacting with users to executives
